Every nickel alloy shipment from Tailan Metal carries an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate (MTC). Here is how to read one in two minutes.
The Key Blocks
- Heat number – the melt identity; every plate is traceable back to it. Match it against the marking on the material.
- Product form and dimensions – check form (sheet/plate), thickness, width, length against your order.
- Chemical composition – ladle analysis per element; compare against the ASTM ranges (e.g. Ni ≥58%, Cr 20–23% for B443 UNS N06625).
- Mechanical results – tensile strength, yield strength and elongation must meet the standard minimums for the supplied condition.
- Condition and heat treatment – e.g. annealed; for grades like 718 the aging cycle should be stated.
Red Flags
- Heat number on the certificate that does not match the plate marking
- Composition values sitting exactly on standard limits across many elements (possible copy-paste)
- Missing condition statement
Independent Verification
We welcome third-party inspection (SGS, TUV, BV) and can arrange PMI retesting before shipment — a genuine certificate always survives verification.
